We were delighted to be invited to participate in several Autism Awareness events with the Cook County this year. First we were able to have a lovely virtual discussion with Cook County Commissioner, Michael Scott, Jr, Dr. Erik Mikaitis, as well as representatives from Rush AARTS, Cook County Health and Eyas Landing. The following week we were able to participate in a special press conference bringing attention to Autism Awareness Month with several Cook County Commissioners and Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, and local organization including Rush AARTS, Blue Bird Day/Eyas Landing/Merlin Day Academy, and The Answer Inc. Big thanks to board member Erin Doyle for representing Chicago Autism Network at this event. See the whole press conference here. It was wonderful to hear from so many local leaders who are all dedicated to supporting the local autism community.

Finally, we were invited to a Cook County Board meeting, where Commissioner Scott proposed a resolution to recognize the work of Chicago Autism Network in supporting local autism families. You can read the full resolution on the Cook County website here.
